Privacy
Short version: MetronomeHQ cannot see your practice sessions, because everything happens in your browser and nothing is sent anywhere.
What runs where
The metronome, tap tempo and converters on this site are static pages. The click sounds are synthesised by your browser's Web Audio API; the calculations happen in JavaScript on your device. No audio is recorded โ the site never asks for microphone access โ and no tempo, setting or tap is transmitted to a server.
Local storage
So the metronome comes back the way you left it, your settings (tempo, time signature, subdivision, accent choice, and practice-trainer values) are saved in your browser's local storage under the key metronomehq-settings-v1. This data never leaves your device. You can delete it at any time by clearing site data for this domain in your browser settings; the metronome will simply return to its defaults (120 BPM, 4/4).
No accounts, no cookies for tracking
There are no user accounts and no sign-up. The site does not set advertising or analytics cookies, and it loads no third-party fonts, scripts or trackers โ every page is self-contained.
Hosting
The site is served as static files by its hosting provider, which necessarily processes standard request data (such as your IP address and browser user agent) to deliver the pages and protect the service. That is the ordinary, unavoidable data processing of any website visit; MetronomeHQ itself keeps no logs of tool usage because there is no tool server to log to.
Changes
If this policy ever changes โ for example if the previewed Pro tier launches with accounts โ this page will be updated before the change takes effect, and the change will be described here in plain language.
